Role of Guides

Medicine Wheel at Redcliff field guides are hand-selected to work with our young adults. They have extensive experience working with youth and young adults in a wilderness setting. Guides report directly to the clinicians from the front lines and play a vital role in the day to day operations of the program.

Guides frequently attend a portion of a client’s individual session with the clinician. They report the client’s daily activities, outline their strengths and weaknesses throughout the week, and may participate in setting weekly goals. Through this cooperative effort, guides are better equipped to help clients throughout the week.

All guides are Wilderness First Responders and have a minimum of one year experience as wilderness guides.
