Helping clients stay healthy during their stay at Medicine Wheel is a priority. Any medical concerns are relayed from the field to our base of operations and reviewed by our full time nurse. Our nurse makes regular visits to each client in order to evaluate blood pressure, weight, BMI, and address any medical issues. All client medications are managed and administered by our nurse via guides. Head instructors are certified Wilderness First Responders.

  • Bi-weekly physical evaluations by medical staff
  • Parent weekly phone sessions and consultation with a licensed clinician
  • Student weekly individual psychotherapy sessions with a licensed clinician
  • Weekly group psychotherapy sessions with licensed clinician
  • Daily group sessions with field counselors
  • Substance abuse 12-step process
  • Two-day parent seminar and graduation ceremony
  • Discharge summary and transitional planning
  • Insurance Billing & Utilization Review
